Five procedures are needed to process Hunan dark tea. Originating in Anhua, it is divided into four grades with tender high-grade tea and coarse low-grade tea.
Grade one tea is twisted tightly and looks dark. Grade two tea is twisted relatively tight and looks brown. Grade three tea is loose, and looks green. Grade four tea is wide and coarse and looks russet brown. The tea smells mellow with a scent of pine. When the tea is made, the water turns bright orange.
