Japanese tourist delegation visits Changsha

On July 15, a delegation led by Takao Fushimi, executive director of Shizuoka Prefectural Tourism Association in Japan visited Changsha to learn about the city. He sought to study the economy, tourism, and cultural developments so as to enhance friendly exchanges between the two cities.
Deputy Mayor of Changsha Chen Xianchun met with the 12-member delegation on July 14 and extended a warm welcome to the guests and sincere regards to the quake-stricken Japanese.
Chen said that Changsha is a famous cultural city with a history of more than 3,000 years. It is the birthplace of the Hunan culture and an innovative city full of vigor. Changsha and Shizuoka hoped to strengthen cooperation between the two cities on the basis of tourism associations and agencies. He also invited more Japanese visitors to Changsha.
Takao Fushimi said that the members from travel agencies, hotels and media in Shizuoka had admired the natural scenery of Changsha and other places in Hunan province. Talking with representatives of the Changsha municipal bureau of tourism yielded fruitful results.
