Top 10 law figures from Hunan announced

On Oct 7, the CCTV 2011 Top 10 Law Figures from Hunan were unveiled. The event was organized by Hunan's Voice of China.

Winners of this honor are Jiang Jianxiang, Liao Qi, Ma Xianxing, Tan Jianhui, Wang Zhangcai, Li Changyue, Chen Pingfan, Tang Xiongwei, Pan Jie and Ou Aimin.

All recipients have made developments in their own fields and reflected both the progress and achievements of law in Hunan and the Hunan people's spirit of unremitting exploration.

The special vote "CCTV2011 Top 10 Law Figures from Hunan" on the home page of Voice of China attracted more than 2.4 million netizens to vote from Sept 9 to Oct 5. Over six million people clicked the event and millions of Hunan people paid attention to this appraisal.

By combining internet voting data with the judges' scoring, the top 10 figures were finally chosen from 20 candidates.

"CCTV China's Law Figures" is a selection sponsored by China Central Television (CCTV) and the Department of Legal Publicity. Dec 4 is set as China's publicity day for the rule of law, and every year on channel CCTV-1 a special evening party to commemorate the day is shown at 8:00 pm. It is the 10th year already.

The selection of law figures has become an annual grand event in China. As a sub-division of the event, Hunan needs to submit these figures to CCTV to participate in the final selection across China.
