Installations of a building complex have caused a ripple at an art exhibition in Shanghai, which were erected using edible materials, including biscuits, bread and pizza.
The creative artwork, displayed at the Rockbund Art Museum on Tuesday, is part of artist Song Dong's Eating Cities series to encourage the public to reflect on urban life. The model structures represent the construction and demolition of modern buildings and skyscrapers.
"Through these works, we can see directly how a city is built first and then vanished over time," Song was quoted by local media. "What do we actually own in the end? That's something we should reflect on about life."
Since 2003, Song has been introducing the conceptual series in cities including Shanghai, London and Barcelona.
