Established ink painter Yuan Wu is noted for embracing a compassionate feeling for the mankind in his paintings.
Yuan's current exhibition, Boundless Realm of Ink, shows some 70 works reviewing his career since the 1990s. The display includes his well-known figure series, such as fighters in Northeast China against the Japanese invasion during World War II and villagers of northern China. The impressive Morning of Jokhang Temple series in which he presents devout Tibetan prayers at Lhasa's Jokhang Temple are also on show.
The exhibition runs at the National Art Museum of China through Sept 11.
