A qinghua jar with phoenix designs
Also part of the Bushell collection, the jar was produced in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The phoenix appeared as a decoration on objects as early as the Shang Dynasty. Royal families monopolized the design during the Yuan (1206-1368), Ming and Qing dynasties.
