Haydn in Guangzhou

The Austro-Hungarian Haydn Philharmonic will perform Haydn's music in Guangzhou. Founded in 1986, the orchestra completed recording the entire cycle of Haydn's symphonies in 2001. Numbers 40 to 45 were voted "Best of the Year" by the UK music magazine Gramophone. Haydn's No 45 Symphony will be played at the Guangzhou concert.

Vivaldi on Labor Day soundtrack

Music from southern Europe will fuel the festive atmosphere for music fans in Guangzhou over the Labor Day holiday. I Solisti Veneti, a chamber orchestra from Venice, Italy, will perform Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, on May 2. The orchestra hails from the country where baroque music was born. The orchestra will work with guitarist Riccardo Tamai to play Fantasia For a Gentleman, a classic guitar concerto from Spanish composer Joaquin Rodrigo. Founded in 1959, I Solisti Veneti has received many awards including a Grammy for its recordings.
