The Art Museum of Tsinghua University is hosting a retrospective solo exhibition for veteran painter and art educator Huang Guoqiang.

On view are more than 50 selected dry-ink landscape paintings, dry-ink figure paintings, and colored-ink figure paintings the 80-year-old has created over the past five decades.

Born in 1932 in Malaysia, Huang returned to China in 1954 and was later trained at Central Academy of Arts and Crafts in 1957 in ink art, book design and decorative art.

Huang has established his own style by borrowing from both Western art, and ancient Chinese brick and rock carvings and mural paintings.

9 am-5 pm, until Sept 15. The Art Museum of Tsinghua University, 30 Shuangqing Lu, Haidian district, Beijing. 010-6278-9089.
