The charm of Kunqu Opera
In 2001, UNESCO proclaimed China's traditional Kunqu Opera as an "intangible heritage of humanity". For opera lovers, here comes the chance for a classic show.
Zhang Jun, one of China's top Kunqu Opera performers, will stage Blossoms on a Spring Moonlit Night this weekend. The operatic piece is inspired by a Tang Dynasty (618-907) poet's work, which is adapted from a love story transcending life and death.
