Ferrero Group, a leading confectionary maker, will be an official partner at Milan Expo 2015, which kicked off on May 1.
In response to the Expo theme of "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life", the specially designed Ferrero venues at Milan Expo will have different themes, hoping to attract hundreds and thousands of tourists.
Of all the venues, seven multimedia towers are the most compelling. There are hazelnut trees at the summit of each tower, bearing generous fruits, as a tribute to Ferrero’s theme of "Giving Back". The towers are provided with external screens and videos will be displayed inside. At the bottom of the tower is the interaction area where people can learn about Ferrero’s social responsibility views through interactive experiences.
One of the towers is at the entrance of Expo near Area Zero, and introduces Ferrero's production model from the very first link of the supply chain. The raw materials, such as hazelnuts and cocoa beans, are required not only to satisfy the high quality standard, but also are ethically planted in a sustainable way — the agricultural practice has to improve farmers' professional skills and standard of living, and meets the concrete target of reducing emissions, the company’s press release said.
"We are glad to be part of Expo Milano 2015, during which we’ll share the group's successful experience and concept in sustainable development," says Giovanni Ferrero, CEO of the Ferrero Group.
"By leveraging the global platform of the Expo, we wish to raise awareness among all stakeholders in the world on the business model that we have been proud of, and contribute in protecting the environment as well as enhancing the long-term development of the communities we are operating in."
The Ferrero Group also plans to present its sixth CSR Report during the Expo, to share its sustainable business model.
