In their tour in Beijing at the Dusk Dawn Club, they surprised audiences with their funny and free pop jazz style of playing drums, keyboards, bass and trumpet, and of course their gorgeous singing.
"I thought I was just coming to grab a drink, didn't expect to hear such great singing," says Liu Yinming, an audience member sitting at the club. Her boyfriend, a Spaniard, said he just felt great, in a way that he can't explain exactly. "You have to feel it yourself," Liu explains.
Liu said she especially loved the vocals, sung by Marion Rampal. "She is being quite expressive, and that's very absorbing," she said. And when she was told that Rampal is five months pregnant, she was even more impressed.
On the stage, Rampal is wearing aChinared sleeveless top and lipstick, totally relaxed as she performs – sometimes singing in a soothing and penetrating tone that tickles your heart, sometimes enjoying the music from the keyboards, trumpet or drums, which take the lead alternately.
Xie Lin, a high-school girl who studies in a French international school inBeijing, said she loved the drums. "The abrupt stops simply captivate you, it’s funny, like you’re swimming in between your dreams and reality."
"You can't feel that through listening to the records," she said.
