Modern touch rekindles ceramic craft
West Bank city revives ancient art after gaining UNESCO recognition
HEBRON, West Bank - The city famous for its ceramics and officially named the World Crafts City by UNESCO is pushing the ancient traditional craft to take a more modern approach.
There are many ceramic factories in Hebron in the West Bank. And one of the oldest was established in 1968 by a schoolteacher whose passion for handicrafts led him to research the art from 1962, until he established his first workshop.
