Wang Baoan, former head of the National Bureau of Statistics, and Li Chengyun, former vice-governor of Sichuan province, have been indicted on charges of accepting bribes, officials with the Supreme People's Procuratorate said on Tuesday.
Wang Baoan, 54, was indicted by prosecutors in Zhangjiakou, Hebei province.
"We have informed the suspects of their right to file lawsuits (in the event the evidence is found to be false) and interrogated them, and listened carefully to their lawyers' defense statements to protect their human rights," according to a statement released by the SPP on Tuesday.
