Hospital blamed for medicine mix-up

By Wang Hongyi in Shanghai | China Daily | Updated: 2016-12-10 07:06

A Shanghai hospital reached a compensation agreement on Friday with a patient who lost her baby after she was given wrong medicine by a nurse at the hospital.

The woman was 16 weeks pregnant when she was admitted to the Pudong Maternal and Children Care Service Center on July 1.

On July 3, a nurse mistakenly gave her Mifepristone, a drug commonly used to terminate early pregnancy. One hour passed before they realized they made a mistake.
