International exposition focuses on innovation
The China Nantong Jianghai Expo will open on Saturday and last through until September.
With the theme of focusing on innovation-driven development and showcasing the charm of Nantong, Jiangsu province, the event will include 14 activities that are designed to promote the city's achievements in reform and opening-up, advance international cooperation and inject more vigor into innovation and startups.
In response to China's major strategies such as "Made in China 2025" and mass entrepreneurship and innovation, the expo will center on the country's and the province's 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20).
This year's highlights include:
an innovation exhibition of "Made in China 2025" from May 28 to 30
a China-ASEAN construction industrial summit on May 28
the release of Nantong's industrial stock asset data on May 29
an overseas Chinese businesspeople tour around Nantong from May 28 to 29
a Nantong tourism exhibition from May 28 to 29
a startup promotional week in July
cooperation and exchanges between budding entrepreneurs from Nantong and Taiwan in July
a Taiwan businesspeople summit on innovation and transformation in development in September
an agroproduct fair from May 27 to 29
an intangible cultural heritage show from May 28 to 30
an East China international aerospace exhibition from June 24 to 26
an international home textile product design competition from June to September
a creative cultural design contest from June to September
a Taiwan products fair in September or October.
