11 held in probe of Tianjin blasts

Central government official, port executives among those investigated by top prosecutor

One central government official and 10 other officials and port executives in Tianjin are being held under investigation by China's top prosecutor in connection with the country's worst warehouse blasts in more than half a century.

By Thursday, the blasts, which occurred on Aug 12 in the Tianjin Port, had claimed 145 lives, with 28 still missing.
