Ending corruption in students' college transfers

China Daily | Updated: 2015-05-28 07:49

Students seeking transfer to another university face stricter regulations, according to a notice issued by the Ministry of Education on Tuesday. For example, the notice listing 10 no-transfer conditions says students cannot seek transfer to another local university and those who were enrolled without taking the college entrance exam cannot apply for a transfer. In case of an illegal transfer, everyone involved will be held accountable. Comments:

To fully carry out the new regulations on transfers, all universities should make the process more transparent, and parents and students should not seek transfers illegally, for instance, by offering bribes to university officials. Public supervision should also be encouraged to prevent similar misconduct in order to make university students' transfers fair.
