Chinese pair in line for one-way trips to Mars

Two Chinese nationals are in the running to become astronaut candidates for supposedly one-way trips to Mars, the Red Planet.

Li Dapeng and Lin Xiaoxia have been selected among 100 candidates by the Mars One foundation, a Dutch company.

This month, Mars One narrowed the pool of candidates from more than 200,000 to 50 men and 50 women. The company will further reduce the pool to four, who will get one-way tickets to Mars.
