Province protects environment while reviving marine economy
Hainan, once a main hub on the historical Maritime Silk Road, is rejuvenating its marine economy while also paying attention to marine protection.
The island province will speed up marine infrastructure construction and strengthen its sea ecological protection, according to a government work report delivered at the annual session of the provincial People's Congress on Feb 9.
The province, whose surrounding territorial waters account for two-thirds of the country's total, boasts a unique time-honored maritime culture.
