Evans won't be allowed to move to Malta

Convicted rapist Ched Evans on Saturday was warned he won't be allowed to resume his career overseas.

Evans has been looking for a new club following his release from prison last year and the former Wales and Sheffield United striker had been offered the chance to join Maltese side Hibernians until the end of the season.

But the Ministry of Justice moved quickly to rule out that possibility, pointing out that, as a convicted sex offender on licence, the 26-year-old is effectively barred from working abroad.
