Emperor's palace turned into first smart city
Shangcheng district is the core area of Hangzhou, the capital city of East China's Zhejiang province. During the later period of the Song Dynasty (960-1279), when the emperors named Hangzhou the country's capital, the emperor's palace was located in today's Shangcheng district.
The district has long been a center of economic and cultural development and it has six national-level cultural sites.
Today, the district is the nation's first example of smart management and serves as a national model for smart city construction.
