Czech Special: Artists keep communications open between two countries

By Deng Zhangyu | China Daily | Updated: 2014-10-25 07:39

Chinese painter Wu Yi sent an interesting ink painting to Czech sculptor and jewelry designer Pavel Opocensky for the opening of an exhibition at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beijing in late September.

The painting portrays three parts: a complete piece of jade, two broken halves of jade and one piece made of broken jade joined together.

A year ago, one of Opocensky's nephrite pieces was accidentally broken by Wu, an incident that inspired him to make a painting featuring the broken piece.
