SMEs driving force for golden age of economic cooperation with Japan
China and Japan are at the dawn of a golden age of economic cooperation and investment opportunities, an expert at a forum on bilateral ties between Beijing and Tokyo said on Monday.
"I believe the coming 10 to 15 years will provide the best investment opportunities for China and Japan, with small- and medium-sized enterprises being the driving force," said Wei Jianguo, secretary-general of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges at the Beijing-Tokyo Forum sponsored by China Daily and Genron NPO, a Japanese nonprofit group.
The rapid growth of economic cooperation between the two countries in the past two decades was largely fueled by trade and unilateral investment from Japan, Wei said.
