Golf ace rings in new year with a bang after tennis star agrees to marry him following two-year courtship

Rory McIlroy is claiming his first win of the new year - his engagement to tennis star Caroline Wozniacki.

Two-time major golf champion McIlroy and former women's world No 1 Wozniacki announced their engagement on Wednesday in postings on Twitter.
