Laws are cold, but lawyers can serve them with warmth, says Yi Shenghua, a lawyer who has built his fame and influence in criminal law over the past decade.

"Laws have temperature," he says, recalling his growth in this field.

The 40-year-old has published a book about his legal career, which became a best-seller, and is especially popular with law students and novice lawyers.
