Delivering Icelandic excellence to China
Situated at the confluence of the North Atlantic and Arctic oceans, Iceland has an economy driven by its fishing industry. It generates higher export revenue per capita from fisheries than any other country, and the industry continues to play an essential role today. Icelandic Group, Iceland's largest seafood exporter, aims to establish a solid infrastructure for shipments to China.
With a history dating back more than 70 years, Icelandic Group focuses on the primary and value-added processing of fresh, chilled and frozen seafood products, as well as the sales and marketing of Icelandic branded products. It is now in a prime position to focus on the growth markets of Asia, with 600 million euros ($801.8 million) in sales and a presence in eight countries.
The group already has a global network of processing, sales and marketing companies. In the United Kingdom and Belgium, Icelandic sells its products through retailers and supermarkets, while in Spain and North America products are sold through restaurants and food service companies. Today, Icelandic Group is gaining momentum in China.
