Mission Hills set to host HSBC Champions
The International Federation of PGA Tours announced on Wednesday that the 2012 World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions event will be played from Oct 29-Nov 4 at Mission Hills Guangdong, on the Olazabal Course.
The first HSBC Champions event took place in 2005 and quickly established itself on the global golf map. It was awarded the title of World Golf Championship in 2009, further enhancing its reputation as one of world's biggest tournaments.
The previous seven editions of the WGC-HSBC Champions took place at Sheshan International Golf Club, Shanghai, with the following marquee players claiming the coveted title: David Howell, Y.E. Yang, Sergio Garcia, Francesco Molinari and Phil Mickelson - the only one to have won the title twice - and in 2011 Germany's Martin Kaymer became the latest to join that impressive roll of honor.
