Chongqing vice-mayor dismissed

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has decided to remove Wang Lijun from the position of deputy mayor of Chongqing, a senior official with the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee confirmed on Thursday.

Wang's removal is being handled according to procedures, the official told xinhuanet.com.

He Ting, deputy governor and police chief of Qinghai province, has been nominated to replace Wang as deputy mayor of Chongqing.
