TEHERAN - Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Li Changchun called for deeper bilateral relations with Iran in various areas - while reiterating China's desire to see a resolution of the Iranian nuclear issue through negotiations.

Li met with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to consolidate and further boost ties.

The two sides, he added, should "deepen trade and economic relations, earnestly put into effect signed agreements and contracts, develop infrastructure, communication, auto and light rail cooperation", he said during his visit.
