South China's Guangdong province, host of the CISMEF, has earmarked 90 million yuan this year to subsidize SME efforts to go abroad in their business operations.
The figure more than doubles Guangdong's 40 million yuan budget for 2009. It is 90 percent of the total funds the province has set aside for subsidizing its enterprises to invest in or enter overseas markets.
The province has organized seminars that travel across the province to brief SMEs on favorable policies and tax incentives as well as best practices in international trade and investment.
