France Expo Special: Arte-Charpentier in China: 'each project is unique'

Since the middle of the eighties, Arte-Charpentier Architects has come to China in order to study and accompany its evolution and growth in terms of Urban Planning and Architecture.

Over the years our office has integrated its French experience with the local culture. We try to give each project its unique identity by combining contemporary design methods with cultural ideas.

For example, the Grand Theatre in Shanghai combines a circular roof with a square plan, symbols of sky and earth in Chinese culture.
