Charities help heal troubled hearts

China Daily | Updated: 2010-06-04 07:52

When nuns at a Catholic church in a small village in Hebei province found Tian Ziyi abandoned on their doorstep, it was not long before they realized something was terribly wrong.

The 4-month-old has a serious heart defect and, without treatment, stands little chance of survival.

Thanks to the Foundation of Liming Family, Tian is one of two orphans at Huaxin Hospital waiting to join the thousands of other patients who have been helped by legendary surgeon Wu Qingyu.
