Starch shop closed after poisoning case

A starch supplier has been shut down by police after an investigation showed that the food-thickening agent contained clonidine, an anti-hypertensive drug.

Seventy-nine people at a tourism restaurant were poisoned when they ate food containing the starch.

Police inspected all the dishes and condiments and were reported to have confirmed the source of the clonidine - starch bought from the Huaijun food shop.
