Security hits high gear as thieves target auto show

Police and organizers of the Beijing Auto Show have tightened security at venues after three suspected thieves were arrested on the opening day.
Ning Tongtong, a press officer with the transport squad of Beijing police department, told METRO more officers had been deployed in Beijing Auto Show venues as a result.
While refusing to talk about specific numbers, she said the contingent on duty at the show will increase by 50 percent during the upcoming May 1 holiday.
