District looks for volunteer earthquake response teams

Two residential communities in Fengtai district recently started recruiting residents for volunteer earthquake response teams.

The volunteer teams, which will operate on a trial basis, will be the first of their kind in Beijing and will aid the district's professional emergency response team.

The volunteer teams will focus exclusively on responding to earthquakes rather than on all disasters.
