Birdie feast sees Liang take lead

CHENGDU, China - China's Liang Wenchong lived up to his billing as pre-tournament favorite by taking the first-round lead the $1-million Luxehills Chengdu Open on Thursday.

The 31-year-old fired a course record eight-under-par 64 which included eight birdies in the opening event of the OneAsia season.

South Korea's Choi Ho-Sung returned a 65 while US-born Korean David Oh fired a 66 at Luxehills International Country Club.
