Experts say that China should adopt a new national standard
SHANGHAI: City officials are considering more stringent appraisal standards for air quality by including smaller particles and ozone into its air monitoring system during the upcoming World Expo, local environmental authorities said yesterday.
Air-monitoring stations measuring the level of particles less than 2.5 microns (PM 2.5) and ozone would be installed both in and around the Expo site in order to offer a clearer picture of the local air quality, according to Zhang Quan, director of the municipal environmental protection bureau.
