Expo readiness for guests in question

My wife and I are native English speakers with only a smattering of commonly used Chinese words. We arrived at Shanghai's Pudong airport on a China Eastern flight from Bangkok in Thailand, which arrives early in the morning.

After performing the normal arrival formalities, we went out into the cold to catch a taxi to the South Bus Station for our onward journey.
