Lawmaker targets drunk driving

A local legislator in Sichuan province has proposed that drunk drivers who cause deaths because of their intoxication should be accused of "indirect homicide".

Di Feng, a delegate of the Sichuan provincial people's congress, said on Wednesday that such drivers should even be charged with "second-degree murder".

"In our laws, there is no second-degree murder charge or killing with indirect intention," Di said.
