Xu Jiayin, owner of Guangdong Evergrande Women's Volleyball Club

Being a loyal fan of China's legendary women's volleyball player and coach Lang Ping, Xu Jiayin, who is the richest man in China, invested 20 million yuan ($2.9 million) into the newly-established Guangdong Evergrande Women's Volleyball Club in April and started a potentially fairytale story for the club.

After making Lang the coach, the club has a star-studded team and real estate mogul Xu has promised to make it the first real professional volleyball club in China.

At present, the side is the only volleyball team owned and administrated by a company in China. Lang, and her players, have reportedly a much higher income than their compatriots on other teams.
