Wen's interview shows confidence
Premier Wen Jiabao recently gave an interview to Xinhua, during which he talked about the problems facing the government. This reflects his as well as the government's confidence in working toward a better future, says an article on Xinhua Net. Excerpts:
Premier Wen Jiabao has a famous saying: "As premier of the government, I shall tell people the truth. That is my responsibility."
And he has kept his promise. On Sunday, in an interview with Xinhua, he not only expressed joy for maintaining economic growth even during global recession, but also talked about the problems facing the government. He concealed nothing.
The attitude reflects his as well as the government's confidence in tackling those problems. And the confidence comes from the trust of the people, which consolidated further after coping with natural disasters and the global economic crisis.
The premier was careful about many problems. For example, while talking about the possibility of inflation, he said the widening gap between the rich and the poor meant people with low incomes might face difficulties in daily life. He gave his opinion on the soaring housing prices, too, which not only showed his sincerity, but also his concern for people's welfare.
The premier has rendered excellent service to the country and the people. May his dream that we embrace brighter and better times in the next Chinese new year come true.
