Parents trash letter lauding incinerators

GUANGZHOU: Parents in the Panyu district of this southern city are fuming after a school wrote an open letter promoting garbage incinerator projects.

In the letter to students and parents, Lijiang primary school said the burning of garbage was the best way to deal with the growing problem of solid waste.

After starting the letter with an introduction explaining how different types of garbage can be classified, the letter said trash should be burned because landfills pollute the environment.
