Avis hopes car rental future in China is 'fo wheel'
Avis International Auto Leasing Co Ltd is hoping to turn Chinese people on to the freedom and convenience of renting rather than buying with a nationwide promotional tour ahead of next year's Shanghai Expo.
Under the slogan "Free traveling, unbounded city", the auto leasing and rental provider for the 2010 Expo is launching a series of events in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou over the next month to show people that renting a car is even easier than renting an apartment.
"With over 70 million visitors coming to the expo, we're going to see a surge in demand for rental cars to aid the city's transport system," said Zhang Haibo, general manager of Avis International Auto Rental and Leasing. "Avis is therefore very excited about welcoming guests with our professional auto rental and leasing services."
