SHANGHAI: Chinese shares sank to a four-week low yesterday as worries deepened about a possible tightening of market liquidity after a sharp drop in bank lending in July.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index plunged 152.01 points, or 4.7 percent, to close at 3112.72. The smaller Shenzhen Component Index fell 4.15 percent to 12591.66.
