By Xin Dingding | China Daily | Updated: 2009-06-05 07:50

The top discipline watchdog supports a ban on buying cigarettes with public money, but is yet to take any firm action, said an anti-tabacco organization.

Zhang Jing, spokeswoman with the Chinese Association of Tobacco Control (CATC), said the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Commission for Discipline Inspection revealed that it would take action in a conversation last week.

However there is no timeframe as to when the ban would be implemented, Zhang said.
