China ready to launch first Mars probe

China's first Mars probe, Yinghuo 1, is expected to be launched in the second half of this year, Zhang Weiqiang, deputy Party secretary of the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, said yesterday. The probe had passed the research phase, Zhang said at the 3rd Shanghai International Aerospace Technology and Equipment Exhibition.
