ROME: Lance Armstrong was confident he ccould at least win a stage in this month's Giro d'Italia despite having only just recovered from a broken collarbone, the seven-time Tour de France winner said on Tuesday.
The 37-year-old, who returned to cycling in January to promote his Livestrong cancer charity after more than three years in retirement, suffered the injury in Spain in March and does not expect to challenge in the Giro overall.
"I would be disappointed if I didn't win one stage and I don't care if it's a mountain stage or a time trial," the Astana rider told a news conference in Rome.
