Elcoteq set for speedy consolidation in BDA

Customer demand was the key factor in the Elcoteq group deciding to consolidate all of its China-based manufacturing initiatives on to one site. It was also the overriding factor in the telecommunications equipment manufacturer opting to site its combined business at BDA's Yizhuang base.

Originally founded in Finland, Elcoteq, aside from its telecommunication interests, is also one of the world leaders in the provision of Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS). It opened its Beijing facility at the BDA in 2000, as a sister operation to its existing Shenzhen plant.

The choice of Yizhunag instantly appealed due to the BDA's established multinational customer basis, advanced infrastructure, and logistic facilities. The high concentration of other hi-tech companies and a concurrent concentration of innovative young technical talents also appealed to the company.
