It drizzles thick and fast in the morning. Men and women move sadly in the street.
People describing grief or sorrow often quote these two sentences from a Chinese ancient poem.
"We sweep. We pray. We weep," is a saying often uttered by Chinese people visiting and honoring our ancestors on Tomb Sweeping Day (also known as the Qingming Festival). Chinese people have held this annual festival for more than 2,000 years. It originates from the Cold Food Festival in ancient times and commemorates a faithful minister, who gave his flesh to save his emperor.
