Say no to Dalai Lama: FM

By Zhang Haizhou | China Daily | Updated: 2009-03-09 07:39

China should actively have its own say on its core interests in international affairs, a Chinese expert said yesterday, referring to Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi's remarks on the Tibet issue the day before.

In a news conference, Yang urged other countries "not to allow the Dalai Lama to visit their countries" and "not to allow their territories to be used by him to separate Tibet from China".

The Dalai Lama's side still insists on establishing a "so-called Greater Tibet on a quarter of Chinese territory", said Yang, responding to a German journalist's query about Tibet.
